Nope.... and I am in my mid-50s.
I have never owned one and see no reason to!
I apply make-up just fine with the regular mirror.... or peering through the reading glasses.
Well, you might want to once just take a peek into a magnification mirror after having applied your make-up without one if you have severe prespyopia. I've done it on occassion and it can be a little, um...interesting!
I have horrible presbyopia... I have to wear +2.50 glasses just to type this reply!
And I am wearing my -10 and -10.5 (right and left respectively) dioptic to reply to you. People who have the negative dioptic are more apt to use a magnification mirror without corrective lenses.
I wear bifocal contacts but I still use a magnifying mirror - when you are older 40 even if you have your vision corrected you still need help. You all will find out when you get old.
After 40 you will notice little hairs on your chin - I try not to go overboard plucking them. Yes - magnification can be depressing.
Maja - That's one of the funnier posts I've read in awhile. I guess because I could have written it word for word. I bought a 10 x lighted mirror a few months ago. Oh boy, the things that I see that I didn't want to see. But I keep telling myself that people don't see all that when they look at me. It just makes it easier for me to pluck the eyebrows in between waxings and take care of the abundance of chin hairs (thanks to pcos). The scariest thing I've seen in the mirror so far is a grey eyebrow hair.
I use a mag mirror too. I had lasik several years ago and used to be able to see really well up close as well as far away. Now the far away is still really good, but the up close is not so good. I can put on foundation and concealer just looking in the regular mirror over my sink in the bathroom, but I need to mag mirror for eye makeup. I too wonder if everybody can see those fine lines around my eyes. But I seem to look fine in a regular mirror so I don't worry about it too much. However, I will admit to botoxing those lines away and having juvederm in the laugh lines by my mouth.

About the eyebrows, as I got into my 40's, I finally realized why older women ended up with such thin eyebrows. This comes from the 'gray' plucking we start doing............
Now, I leave them alone and just use a good coloring pencil and an eyebrow brush.

Yeah, that lasik surgery sent me over the top too - before that the Ronko- Extend-An-Arm was all I needed!
Can't live without my mag mirror and I have the lighted one It's great for eyebrow plucking and to find other hairs scattered around where they shouldn't be
I started to get some gray hairs in my brows and didn't want to pluck them so I have been "dying" them and seems to work good for me and lasts for weeks.
