I think it's only a problem is the child has poor self-worth anyway.

Where does all this crap come from anyway? I had barbies and never felt like I had to have her figure.

Talk about over thinking things.

Well, this is The Onion afterall...

I think the Bratz are nasty and Barbie can be a great influence if used the right way.

That gal is sold as a businesswoman, doctor, teacher, mother etc.

Also, what is wrong with striving for a small waist, clean hair and nice make up?

Bratz are butt ugly. Poor little girls probably look at them and think "I'm going to look like that when I'm a teenager?" No wonder their self-esteem takes a hit.

Yeah...I grew up with Barbie and never wanted to look like her. It didn't give me image issues or weight problems, but then again I was also 6' tall and 115lbs (medical issue, not anorexic ) Personally, I think Bratz dolls are disgusting because they look like 13 year old hookers and I for one am shaking my head at parents who let their 5th graders dress like that (i.e. short short skirts, tons of makeup, crop tops and 'cleavage' showing). When I was 13 I was riding bicycles, playing outside, volunteering at the womens shelter and whatnot and I don't remember ever giving a crap what I wore. Oh well... I guess we'll have to get used to the 'prostitot' look.
