It really depends where you are. Specifically here in NY, a lot of the teens have different styles. Thou let me get this straight, baggy jeans are out of style, it's more like straight boot cut, or slim straight. Here are a few pics taken from SoHo in Manhattan:
I don't get how you know...physically those are comfortable for a guy. Women can wear tight pants and not be uncomfortable for the most part because everything is flat. Know what I mean.

Yeah... I thought I'd be the only one in the family targeted by producers of jeans with lycra, but lo and behold, they came up with that kind of jeans for skate-borders, and there you have it - those "super tight guys skinny jeans..." My high school child wears them and I gave him my blessing, because he doesn't rip them that often

I went to a public school in Australia but we still had to wear the school shirt (red or green polo shirt with school badge on it). In the early days any bottom was allowed - many of the girls wore mini-skirts. In later years they got strict about it, even banning jeans. It was only black pants, modest length skirts, or shorts in summer.

Depends on what type your son is. A lot of teenage dudes are "skater", which could mean anywhere from actually a skater to more scene kid who just has a lot of drugs and sex. Skinny (skintight) jeans are MANDATORY, and usually come from either Hot Topic, PacSun, Zumiez, or the rare store exclusive to a skate shoes brand (Vans has actual stores, but not where I live). They also wear boxers rather than briefs, so the boxers showing at the top is just incidental, and really has nothing to do with the old baggy gangsta style. Shirts are either band tees or skate brand tees, and hoodies are preferred instead of heavy winter coats, though fuzzy plaid shirts are also HUGE. Ballcaps from said skate brands are also worn a lot by actual skaters, and the shoes are almost always skate shoes from those brands (Etnies, DC, Volcom, Vans, Fallen, I'm sure there are several others).
The other 1/4 or so are "prep", a word that gets very abused from its high class original meaning. In the better economy days, it meant lots of Abercrombie and Hollister, though other preppy brands show up as well. These days, it means the former if you're at a rich school, but for most schools, they wear tons of Aeropostale. Crappy clothes yes, but dirt cheap and "prep". Again, not really prep but the kids who wear that call themselves that. Abercrombie and Hollister can at least pass off as good college/twentysomething clothes, but Aero looks terrible on anyone over about 15 years old. American Eagle is also a cheaper version of ANF/Hollister.
Again this comes from a young guy who lives in an area that although wealthy, doesn't seem to have as much nice clothing choices as it should. My trip to Dallas last weekend showed me that there is a lot more out there.
My 14-year-old son has been in a private school uniform for years, but will probably attend public high school. The public school does not wear uniforms. We were in the public school the other day for a brief visit and it looked like every male there had on jeans - both students and teachers.
So, is it just jeans, t-shirts, hoodies and tennis shoes? My son likes wearing a uniform, so this will be a change for him.
Anything but chick jeans. Ground him till he's 18 if he even talks about wanting a pair. That's so wrong.
I have to say OMG to post 61 as well. What the fork do you call that getup? That looks like a ticket for a buttkicking to me.
