Your walking through the aisles at one of your favorite stores and you spot a pair of the cutest ruby red pumps you ever did see! You take them out of the box and are flabbergasted with how fierce you look in them. Trying not to cause a scene because of your inability to contain the urge to do a runway walk, you remove them from your feet and excitedly escort them to the nearest cashier.

That following weekend while you are out with your girls you decide to take a picture. "Great hair" ...check, "White Teeth".....check, "beautiful face"...check.....you strike your pose , and smile.

*flash*

A couple of days later you decide to visit on of your girls. While you are sitting and sharing stories about your job, your families and your men, she mentions the pictures taken over the weekend.

*choke*

Your overwhelmed with disgust at what you see! The cute pair of stilletto's, the ones that looked so good in the box, that you thought (now your questioning the lighting in your home) looked good when you decided to wear them out ....now seemed to...... MAGNIFY, the roundness of your curves!

You've always been fond of your curves but these damn shoes are deceptively unflattering ........

Has this ever happened to you?

I didn't vote since I'm not full figured, but I just wanted to say that I love the shoes in the 3rd picture. I've always had a thing for the Mary Jane type of shoe, even if some of them can look "old-fashioned" (for lack of a better term lol).

I'm not going to vote either... but after looking at all of the shoe pictures, I can only boggle in wonder.

Shoes don't make your calves look bigger... fat calves make your calves look bigger. While I've never avoided a pair of shoes for that particular reason, I can say, I'd rather have a nice well-rounded look to my feet, than be trying to cram them into the pizza-wedge type that I see so many in now.

So out of the two choices life gives us in shoes, its
1) to be rounded off into a little nub
2) to scrunch your toes together into looking like a bird's beak/boat paddle/piece of pizza

While both of these choices are gross.. I don't see the relevance to either with how fat of an image you portray over the camera.

Hide from cameras. Live on a beach. Run around barefoot.

PS: I have one pair of pizza shoes. they are red leather ankle boots. they are the most painful, most horrendous looking pair of shoes on the face of this planet. they are, in fact, only put to use when I am shoving the point of them up someone's *** to make a point.

Happy trails!

All of those shoes are perfectly dreadful looking! I would think that walking in them would cripple a girl, large or small.

I don't think the rounded toe would be unflattering but I do know that any kind of ankle strap makes legs look MUCH heavier.

Pointy toes will help the legs look longer and slimmer no doubt about it although weight loss is better

I agree pointy toes do make your legs look better. They dont have to be those extreme ones that could double as weapons tho. The comfortable ones that follow the shape of your foot do just as well.

I am not fond of round toed shoes. I will be sixty on my BD not six. What I especially hate are square toed shoes. I wear a size 10-11. Thats just what I want to wear. A shoe that looks like Im wearing the shoe box.

Its been a while since I wore heels. But when I was young and stupid I often wore 3" heels. Knee surgury will cure you of that. But when I did I preferred something that looked like it could hold me up. IMO nothing worse than looking like youre gonna fall on your face cause your shoes look whimpy. .

For us old limpy peeps. How bout some fashionable leather flats in COLORS with nice spongy soles. Maybe some wedge heels for a little height.
