There is a heck a lot more to shoes than just throwing them on, especially when it comes to women's shoes like heels. I have no idea why so many complain "their feet hurt", just because it is the right size does not mean it is the right fit. It takes a but of an effort to find a shoe that is the right fit, and the style you may like may not have the right fit at all.
As for the price-quality argument; while prestige pricing really is a factor on expensive shoes, the quality is also there, especially after a couple of years of use. Wear a $20 shoe and a $200 shoe and you will not see the difference right away, but after two years you will see. To add, just as I stated before, just because it is expensive does not mean it is the right fit.
