Why do so many young people try to look sloppy and ugly?

What do you think of this guy. Does he look hot or sloppy?

Aside from the fact that he looks about a decade too young for me...

It looks like he's put a lot of effort into the layers in his hair, and probably dries and flat-irons it, so I don't see how that is considered sloppy. Maybe his style isn't what some people like, but he is styled nonetheless.

Sloppy...even if he put care into it, his final result is still a sloppy look. Not my thing, and waaaay too young for me, but at least he isn't covered with piercings and tattoos-that you can see at least.

Let's see... in jr high/high school I was a 'punk' kid with a pink mohawk and ripped up clothes.

Senior year of high school, I started dressing like a 50's housewife and continued that for many years. Of course, I added some color to my arms and back by the way of tattoos

People go with the 'trends' they like. I myself like the rockabilly/psychobilly look and lifestyle, while others may like preppy and still others like that dirty rockstar stuff. I have friends that are in their early 20s and look like they came out of the 60's with their hippie attire and attitudes, I also have a friend who is 27 and absolutely will NOT leave the house without a tie on.

People are strange and people are different, that's what makes life so fun!
