I just moved to Texas and I want to buy cowboy boots...but I'm not sure what to pair them with. Like a nice pair of jeans, but what type of shirt? (I am in a female in my 20's.) Would it be inappropriate to wear a zip up hoodie with cowboy boots?

Oh, I love cowboy boots and hats unfortunatley I have no place to wear them. What are others wearing in your area? I would probably go by that. Personally I wouldn't go with the hoodie but I am 42 and that might be the difference.

Have fun with it. Go out and scope out the locals.

I think the hoody could look a little cheesy with boots. How bout the boots with nice, dark wash jeans and a collared wrap shirt (like a button-up shirt but no buttons, instead a wrap that gives a cute waist)? I got a cute shirt like that from Banana Republic recently, and I think if you did a plain white or black then the boots won't look over the top, they will be your main accessory.

I wear cowgirl boots with everything. Jeans, khaki's, dress pants, etc. Of course, dress pants require nicer boots. If you are wearing jeans and a hoodie you can certainly wear boots. I am in my 40's. When I am going casual I like to wear a pain of jeans, a collared shirt and a jacket (usually blue jean). I also will wear a blue jean jacket with khaki's. Boots go with all of those outfits. By the way, one of my favorite boot stores in Texas is Sheplers. They also have a website. I love cowgirl hats too and have a straw hat for summer and a felt hat for winter. Lately though I have been wearing my beret! Brr!

You are in Texas. Cowboy boots go with everything. Just don't do that double heel click thing everybody who hasn't worn cowboy boots much seems to think is so neat.

Any type of shirt! Wear them with anything!

I'd wear them with jeans and maybe a nice black cashmere turtleneck.

You might want to wear them a few hours a week and practice dancing before going out. If my memory serves me correctly......beer and stiff boots are a bad combination.

Oh dear, the mind wanders........

One definitely needs to break new boots in and you were kind to bring that up.

The best type of shirt to wear with cowboy boots would probably be a button-down shirt.
