This is a sister thread to the "pajama" thread.

Today I saw a young girl wearing Ugg slippers (yes they were slippers) at the mall!!!

Would you ever dream of wearing slippers past the end of your driveway? What is this world coming to?

I'm with you on this one. DS has some moccasins that have rubber soles that he'll wear to the movies or someplace after a sporting event and his feet hurt from the cleats but I would never allow him to wear them to school or actually "out"....

IMHO, slippers should never be worn past the end of the driveway. It is acceptable to run out in the morning to get the newspaper, but that is it!

Never in a million years, slippers stay in the house.

I've got some suede "mailbox slippers" that look just like shoes. You'd never know unless you look really close.

But I still don't wear them out anywhere, unless I'm running one block down the street to the mailbox. They are mailbox slippers, after all.

I love that term "mailbox" slippers.

I'm not a fan of any slippers. I hate flip flops. I like all my footwear to have good foot support and traction. I wonder if these women are driving their cars in slippers also? That doesn't seem like a very smart thing to do.

Wearing slippers in public is along the same lines (to me) as having really long fingernails as it's impossible to do anything practical in them. And it sends the message that they don't have to work and are being chauffeured everywhere.

Did you ever consider she might have had foot surgery, or something was wrong with her foot? Maybe you could tell by the way she was walking..I don't know. Just wondered if this was a fashion thing...or perhaps it could have been a necessity for some reason.

No, absolutely not. There was nothing physically wrong with this young lady in the mall wearing slippers.
