I am curious if anyone remembers when Dr Scholl Exercise Sandals were the hip thing. I believe that during most of the 1970's they were very popular and by the early to mid 1980's just seem to go out rather quickly. They were very stylish and definitely attractive womens apparel. Every high school girl seemed to have a pair. Anyone out their recall or have any memories about them? Wonder why they never tried to re-market them.

Slap, slap, slap, slap, slap....

That's the sound of the shoe hitting the heel of your foot as you walk.

My mom was a teacher and LIVED in those FUGLY things. I've never had a pair and never will.

But aren't the Crocks pretty much the same concept. Comfortable but......not cute.

I think that Crocs are the ugliest, maybe they go out of style one day.

Remember them. Never could wear them 'cause of the "lump" just inder the toes. They still make 'em ya know. Even a knock off style at W-mart.

I'll be brave and say during my college years in the late '70's that's all I wore.

That "lump" was suppose to be the exercise-as they were known as the exercise sandal. Exercising what ?? your foot.

A few years back they brought supposedly the original back but it did not have the "lump" and not made with wood.. I bought a few pair I guess in remembrance of the past but they were not the same as I remembered. Were uncomfortable and I wound up pitching them.

Yeah they are resurrecting them again but more high tech so too speak.

Ugly-Now I ask myself what was I thinking??

I had a pair of Earth shoes during the same era. Lower in the back than in the front - wierd!

I loved my Dr. Scholl's and even had them in several different colors. For a while, I think every girl in my school was wearing them and we all had great calves . When they were re-introduced (I could swear they re-introduced them in the 90s), I bought a pair for nostalgia sake.

OWWWWWWW!!! Blisters and sores galore! On my toes, on my soles, it was awful!!! How did I ever wear them before???

I wore a pair of Dr. Scholl's for awhile and then threw them away...they were always so uncomfortable to me. One of the worst pairs of sandals I ever bought. They don't give. They're wood with a thin rubber sole to prevent slipping.

Same with those Candies high heels. Tried a few on in the store and never bought any.

I wear Earth Shoes today and they're a lot more comfortable to me than Dr. Scholl's.
