Is there a way of looking up old perfumes by the way the bottle looked? I had a perfume that had a pink and black bottle and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. It is driving me crazy. It wasn't a real perfume but probably an eau de toilette that I think I got from CVS at the mall! Any help is appreciated.

Can you describe it in more detail? How old was it~ a very long time ago, or within a shorter period of time? Was it affiliated with a celebrity? More details, please... and I can probably help you figure it out.

Just for kicks, here's a great reference tool:

Thanks Holly! I will look through that site to see if I can spot it, but I'll give you info here, too. I am guessing I had this eau de toilette in the early/mid 90s. It had nothing to do with a celebrity. The bottle was an oval shape, black on the top half (the cap) and pink on the bottom half. The line separating the cap was one big swirl/wave. ~ like that. I remember the smell reminded me of pepper, as weird as that sounds for a perfume. It is similar to Avon's new 50s Glam, which is described as a combination of apple, persimmon, gardenia, rose, musk, moss, and vetiver. I would love to find out what this is. Thanks again.

Could it have been an Avon fragrance? The bottle for Far Away Paradise is pink with a black cap. If not, I'll still keep my eyes open for you...

It could have been Avon but I am pretty sure it was from CVS at our mall. It's not Far Away Paradise--I looked at the pictures but the bottle of the one I'm looking for is oval shaped, equally pink and black, and taller than the FAP one looks. Thank you so much for looking!

If anyone is stil. Responding to this forum my toddler broke a bottle of a perfume i got 4-6 years ago... I thought i woukd be able to recall the brand but i cannot! It was a foreign name i believe and was a colorful oval bottle with a silver cap and an art deco kind of face that seemed like a logo on a cicular glass piece that stood out on the front. Help if you can please! Ive been looking at pictures of bottles for hours.

I've been thru this before lol... i know how it is.

The the poster above - it's not Nikki de St. Phaelle (or something like that) - is it? I hunted that down and found it.

Here is a page for both posters that has a lot of pics and maybe could help:

Daisy Hot Pink Marc Jacobs perfume - a new fragrance for women 2011

I ran into this some years ago when I tried to (again) purchase a product
I used to buying as a gift now and then. Turns out it had become illegal under current law.

Civet Oil (http://perfumesebr.my3gb.com/Vintage_Civet_Oil_Rare_By_Houbigant_From_Musk_Era. html - broken link)Musk Oil

Still a bit sad about that one.

going by the description of the bottle only i believe that product was put out by dana parfumes but the name is escaping me - if im thinking of the correct product it was around for many years and recall it being around as far back as the 1970s
