Well, I'm almost 30.

Speak to me about 14 or 15 years ago, and I may have cared about "cool". For this reason, I take wearing a baseball cap as just a fashion statement or something done for the hell of it. Not all human behaviour has a reasoned point behind it, and i think this is generally true of clothing.

I don't go out of my way to try to talk to someone who is wearing a baseball cap, but they do look good, on some men, especially if the cap is matching with what they're wearing.

OFF TOPIC:
Ladies, you ever talk to a guy who is ALWAYS seen in baseball caps, but once you get to see him without one, you understand WHY he always wears it? I swear baseball caps and sunglasses, can give a person a totally different look until they remove them.....

I wear one when I don't feel like gelling my hair and just am going to the mall or something

My dh wears all kinds of hats and he has thick head of hair. He's usually partial to bush/hiking hats and has his share of baseball hats, as do I. When you people are hiking, climbing, camping, kayacking, biking, etc, don't you where hats to keep the sun out of your eyes? I prefer hats to sunglasses.

HUH????

I have more of an issue with people who wear "Harvard" sweatshirts.

Not something I spend a great deal of time & energy pondering anyway.

Its cool to people who think its cool. If you are trying to attract that type of person, by all means, wear one.

Maybe the OP can post some pics of what she's specifically thinking of. Is it sporto's that where baseball caps? Ravers? Hip hop? or those guys in Jersey on roids that wear them? Or people who just generally don't like to comb their hair, and hide it? lol

Im exactly the same way. I gel my hair usually (when its longer) and sometimes instead of going through that process I just throw on a cap. If I am wearing a cap I remove it if we go into a restaurant. Remember those manners lessons that were taught in elementary school about removing hats while indoors and never wearing them during meals.

Btw, I do not own any professional teams cap (if I did it would be of my beloved Dodgers) so the two caps that I own are related to my Kung Fu.

Also, I subscribe to what the great Tommy Lasorda once said about caps - "Anyone who wears their cap on backwards must have their brains in backwards as well".

Years ago a girlfriend asked (actually told me) to take my baseball cap off before going into a Denny's for lunch......I did. But, I decided she wasn't my type and I broke up with her shortly after the Denny's incident.
During my years involved in pro rodeo, every weekend I'd either have a cowboy hat or baseball cap on.
My wife wears a baseball cap sometimes and it don't bother me at all. The boyfriend she had before meeting me, didn't like/want her wearing one at all. She also wore a cowboy hat when she went squaredancing and country dancing. We have an assortment of baseball caps that we both wear at different times.....going shopping, fishing, boating, whenever. I've even told her how "great looking" she is when wearing either a baseball cap or cowboy hat! We ALWAYS wear them straight on our head! And, by the way, she is 61 and I'm 60 yrs old!

Truth be known, I think men and women wonder if a person is hiding a bald head underneath (because so many balding guys do just that) that cap. Plus, wear it often enough without washing it (like so many men do-lol) and the grime build-up leaves them with the impression that you are nasty/filthy.
