Ummm...they aren't. Any gals saying this must be very very young and only have experienced the baggy, long-falling-off-the-@ss shorts look.

Not long ago, men routinely wore shorts that ended above the knee, and nobody was bothered by it. I think it's pretty strange that anybody would think there's something actually wrong with a man exposing, say, 1/3 of the top half of his leg. And heaven forbid if he has hair on his legs. Who can imagine that?
