Ok so I have stretch marks left on my stomach from when I was pregnant with my son. I was using cocoa butter for a while and have just recently switched to using Mederma and Vitamin E oil...

Any other suggestions?

Also I have been reading on Microdermabrasion on getting rid of them? Has anybody done this procedure? Comments...

Thanks

Microderm abrasion may help in lessening the appearance of stretch marks. There is no actual evidence that Vit. E oil or cocoa butter makes them disappear either. Stretch marks fade over time, but depending on your skin color, they may still be noticable. There is nothing that will actually get rid of them. But you can use makeup to hide it.

unfortunately, stretch marks are like wrinkles. easier/better to prevent than correct. if you already have stretch marks, the best thing you can do is keep the skin moisturized (which it sounds like you're doing) and if there's any discoloration, use something to even out the skin tone. a stretch mark is just what it sounds like. there's really no topical way to remove them.

Stretch marks don't go away. They fade over time (usually going from purplish to silvery whitish, at least on fair caucasian skin, anyway)and become more difficult to see, but they don't go away. Keep your skin moisturized in general, but don't get suckered into purchasing products that promise the impossible.

You can't necessarily prevent stretch marks, either...the elastin in your skin is genetically predetermined, and both rapid weight gain/weight loss, even rapid adolescent development can trigger them.

You can have the marks lasered off but it is very expensive and painful.

Otherwise - learn to live with them - they will fade with time.

Strivectin was originally created by a pharmacutical co
to get rid of stretch marks, then the craze started for
facial wrinkles. sophora, macy's carries it, but a couple
months back I saw it in Costco, it was a two pack for
the same price you'd pay for one at the other retailers.
Price runs around $130.

And, you're just gonna get more, anyway, since your're predisposed to them.

Rub straight Vitamin E oil into your skin. Stretch marks won't go away, but your skin will tighten up and the marks will be less apparent.
