Color is not important. Sometimes I glance at a woman's nails, some have fancy designs that must have cost quite a bit. Then I think (but don't say), your nails are fine, but a much better way to appeal would be if you lost about 80 pounds.

I often wonder what lurks under that fresh coat of paint. Is their nail fungus, are the under side of teh nails clean etc. I prefer my women natural and I'm not even a granola crunchy person.

I don't think anything that's applied and only temporary can really be used to judge character too much. Some women just like the fun of very long nails but only for a short time or they temporarily have decided on no colors on their nails. Same with hair color, blue or green or flame red hair might just be something they're having fun with, not so much a permanent part of them.

This was an extremely weird thread to bump, considering.

Exactly! I am getting my toe nails painted neon green on Monday. Just for fun and for something different.

During the summer, I have to paint them conservative colors since I wear toe-less shoes to work. But in the fall and winter, it's fun time!

This is honestly something I would probably never, ever notice or care about, except maybe if she had them painted in some outlandish manner, like the first pic in DrEarth's post. And then I probably wouldn't care, I'd just think it was weird.

pink for sure! it shows a preppy cute cheerleader look, or a coral, no darks, just pastels, floral colors, pink, light blue, french manicure, no chewed nails...ew

Nothing really.

To me it's the quality of the manicure/pedicure that's more important. Cheap reds look that much cheaper on fingers and toes if the polish is chipped, cracked or poorly painted.

Ladies when in doubt, french is #1 on fingers and toes or go for a nice simple clear shade. Some women wear red with everything and it doesn't always work.

I'm not a man, but it seems women have commented in this thread, so...
My nails are genuine (not artificial) so I have to trim them regularly, for sake of practical functionality.
I wear silver nail polish-because it pleases me to look at.
I don't think one's choice of color with which to adorn oneself (be it clothing, hair, nails, whatever) reflects anything beyond "this is what color I like". Full stop.
