To me it's the quality of the manicure/pedicure that's more important. Cheap reds look that much cheaper on fingers and toes if the polish is chipped, cracked or poorly painted.
Ladies when in doubt, french is #1 on fingers and toes or go for a nice simple clear shade. Some women wear red with everything and it doesn't always work.
I agree with all of this.
I almost always wear an American tip (more natural looking than french). It's very rare that I have a color on my nails. The American tip matches everything and looks neat and clean.
Some men like a woman to have a nice clean French Manicure (to the clueless men, that's the white tipped nails) because it represents class or just because it's a clean look. Some men do not like it and prefer color.
Are these straight men? I don't know many of us who care much at all about women's nails. I always thought nails fell into the category of "things women do to impress other women," like expensive purses and certain types of clothes. If you're doing it to impress us, you're focusing on the wrong thing.
-Clear nail polish says to me says that they enjoy recycling and often on weekends they like to read self help magazines while listening to Madonna.
-Pink nail polish means they are easy.
-Orange nail polish says that they enjoy long walks on the beach followed shortly thereafter by a food fight involving fruit and tacos.
-Brown nail polish means that they spend significant portions of their life texting or on the phone. It also means that they enjoy needle point.
-Red nail polish usually means that they are lactose intolerant and enjoy fully automatic weapons.
-Blue nail polish means she is a very reasonable person and is punctual. Unfortunately this color also means they are very controlling and usually an alcoholic, so advance with caution.
-Black nail polish is usually a good indicator that they enjoy watching sports games and are probably the kind of woman who will put up with a cheater.
lol I love this.
I actually prefer color polish or a clear/sheer color to french manicures.
LOL! Yup, every time I see a woman with goofy long painted nails I wonder how can she saddle a horse...and, no, I'm not making fun of you , I had horses! To me, a woman with nails like that is not active or does much with her hands.... boring , uninteresting and not very sanitary....but it is time consuming and a waste of money!
I paint my nails and there's nothing wrong with my riding skills
Because of work, I'm not allowed to have false nails (which I don't find appealing, regardless). And it's "highly discouraged" for my colleagues and I to have long nails. So, I keep my nails trimmed. In terms of color, I paint it based on what mood I'm in. I usually use clear polish. But sometimes, I go for a dark/navy blue, or dark green, a pale pink, or taupe.
I'm not a fan of neon or very bright colors. I've never even liked red, however.
