Debating whether I should give Mystic Tan a shot before a wedding on Saturday. I'm not looking to appear "tan" per se, but just to go a shade or two darker. (I was trying on dresses for my mom not too long ago and she commented on how pale my legs were. )

I've used self-tanning lotions in the past, but it's impossible for me to do my own back and the dress I'm wearing to the wedding exposes quite a bit of my back.

Anyone have personal experience with Mystic Tan? (The location by me has the "MyMyst" system.)

I did it for prom. It looked great for maybe a day or two, then it got streaky and if I scratched my skin nasty grey gunk came off.

I wouldn't do regularly, but it's great for a quick fix. It looks really natural.

You're better off actually having the people that work at the salon do a spray tan on you. Yes, you stip down naked (or whatever you're comfortable with) and have a stranger spray your most intimate parts, but it is WAY better than a mystic tan and lasts longer. It is more expensive though.

I don't know if I'll be able to find someone to do it on such short notice tomorrow. (I also have a small window due to other appointments.) The one salon near me states that you shouldn't get wet for 24 hrs, which will be impossible since I need to shower for the wedding on Saturday afternoon.

Otherwise I have been looking into that in my area.

ETA: Just realized you meant the tanning salon...I don't know if that tanning salon does the spray tan by hand. It's a regular tanning salon with Mystic machines. I'll have to look into it. Usually you have to go to a "spa" type place to get the spray tan around here.

I've been spray tanned many times because of competing in ballroom dance. Here's what you do. Find out if the tanning salon, or any tanning salon near you, does the spray tan by hand. Go get it done, but get either the extra dark, or the next one down. Leave it on for as long as you can stand it - it will be majorly sticky! Then go ahead and take your shower. You won't be as dark after you shower as you are when you get sprayed. In fact, you will only be about half as dark. I've done this many times. Of course, they will look at you like you have two heads when you tell them you want the super dark, because they are anticipating that you are going to leave it on for 24 hours.

Best of luck to you!

seriously though, I don't think you should do this right before your wedding day!
Experimenting with tanning salons and such should have been done way before.

I have done mystic for a wedding too. It was ok...It was blotchy in places. But nothing massive. I would rather get a tan airbrushed...I would find a salon that did that and price compare. If you can foot the bill for airbrushed tan...better results.
