This morning, the news is all over whether it was proper for the first lady to wear shorts while on vacation out west.
I say, of course she should be able to, but the ones she wore were too short and didn't look good.
I think she's fallen victim to her own hype as a fashion icon this time. She may look nice in sleeveless dresses but the thighs could use some work.
I don't consider those 'short' shorts (I was expecting hot pants...) but fashionably speaking, if I were her I would go with walking shorts or Bermudas...something a bit closer to the knee would be more flattering.
All that aside - she looks fine...she's on holiday and dressed appropriately for the occasion.
I say as long as she has two legs that she was born with let he wear shorts of her choosing.
Now how many vets with no legs would like to be able to show off their natural legs does anyone think there are?
Really..Noooo way she had on shorts Oh My.. Michelle Obama is a Normal human being isn't she? So why can't she wear shorts..why does it matter so much of what she wears.. I mean really people read way to much into these things. She is a normal Mom, Wife, and First Lady ..I'd rather see her in NORMAL clothing than always see her dressed like Laura Bush all sophisticated and looking like she is to rich to wear normal clothing like we all do. I think it is despicable how people over react at how the first lady dresses.

Please dont take offense to this....but really who cares what shorts the woman wears? And how are those too short anyway?
Mothers, regardless of what job their husbands hold, wear shorts like this every day. I'm a mother of an almost 14 year old and I wear much shorter shorts than she has on!! These Michele Obama fashion obsessions are just silly IMO
Unbelievable that we want people around us to be comfortable with who they are, but then they are criticized for wearing shorts when their legs don't measure up to societal beauty! Those are NOT short shorts by far and she SHOULD be wearing shorts on vacation.

They aren't even short shorts. Geez. It's what all of us wear when it's hot, nevermind on vacation. God help her if she decides to swim in something other than a tent.
I couldn't believe this was all over the news this morning. I'm glad we have a first lady who wears shorts when she visits the Grand Canyon in the summer. It's about time we have someone in the White House who understands how "normal" people live their lives. I know when we visited the Grand Canyon in July I wore shorts and they were appropriate for the conditions.
Perhaps having a first lady who is in her 40's, acts her age, and is in the midst of raising children instead of an older first lady is troubling to some, but I find it refreshing.
