What's in style is what looks good on you and what is appropriate.

Boot cut and straight look good on me because I'm thin, and I'm not sure how out of style they can be becasue I can find them at 7 and True Religion. When the flared were in style I had a problem because it made me look totally out of proportion. I have only found two pairs of skinny jeans which look nice on me - for the most part I stay away from them - could care less if they are in style.

I find it asinine to be "in style" if a current trend looks bad on you. But moreso to so concerned about others.

As long as it fits nice, wear it. Saying that boot cut jeans arent in fashion really means nothing to the people that still wear them.

Ah the OP is from LA? Okay not known internationally as a fashion capitol, but more of the trend capitol - big difference.

I have boot cut jeans and I love them. I refuse to put on skinny jeans as I hate the way they look, espeically on me who is 5' 2". Boot cut jeans IMO will NEVER go out of style just like jeans themselves!

I don't know why stores constantly market them to Americans. If you go to Europe you won't see them any where and would not be caught dead in them. It is not 1995 anymore! They are so unflattering on both men and women and are never stylish. Does anyone else agree? I know a lot of you seem to just be ga-ga over them and I'm not interested in you unless you have a valid argument how they make you look good. It is like people want their bodies to look like triangles. You might as well put on a skin tight shirt and put your hair up in one thin long point to accentuate that look.
LOL! Please tell us how you really feel!

I love my skinny jeans and am enjoying my retro fashion stage that I'm going through right now. I don't wear any of the few bootcut jeans gathering dust in my closet so I guess I agree with you.

Just remember in about one year the skinny jeans will be the ones collecting dust and also, the more people I see wearing them, the more I like my straight leg or boot cuts....one girl today had skinny's on and her butt looked huge! The rest of her was ok though!

I like bootcut jeans. If the OP could see what I see on a regular basis bootcut jeans would be of little concern. I see mammoth people that have little or no teeth, people that appear to have butts on the front of them, people wearing tanks with no bras and arms that hang so far down to the ground that I can't even believe it. Pants that are falling off and wearing old slippers and PJ's that are dirty, torn, stained and they smell and are sweating massive amounts because they had to walk four steps to their electric chairs. At some point bootcut jeans become fairly ok with me

Yeah, it does depend on your body shape, but big butts are in right now (Kim Kardashian, Coco wife of Ice-T), so maybe she was happy looking like that.
