Maybe it's me, but I always thought wearing skinny jeans (not a fan myself-no way-no how) limits you to what you can wear shoe or sneaker wise with them. If I see someone wearing skinny jeans it seems that they usually wear a very small shoe/ sneaker like converse low tops. Although I have seen some gawdy rappers and I've seen enough pictures of Justin little baby boy Beiber wearing them with all types of colored hightops. Now that's hot! (I hope you can smell the sarcasm). So while some think that skinny jeans are all the rage, because some teeny boppers are wearing them. I just think that they look stupid. But that's just my opinion. I'll stick with my boot legs. Always have, always will. I don't wear things for the sake of being in style. Although personally there is nothing stylish about skinny jeans..Their hideous.

I wear straight leg sometimes slim cut jeans and they fit over my boots..

I think the boot cut jeans allude more towards the baggy thigh/hip area..

Most of Europe wears straight/slim jeans (not super skin tight).

Also, most Americans wear boot cut due to overweight issues... and bootcut jeans + running shoes are a common thing for America (or wearing running shoes for non athletic purposes.. but Americans dont really care about 'fashion' as much as 'practicality')

You can't even be well-proportioned and curvy, which would be the preferred body type for most females. If male, you cannot be well-muscled or have broad shoulders.

I noticed some heavier people in boot cut jeans and at least they didn't look like wrapped sausages.

Straight jeans are probably okay.

I have toned thighs from soccer, and I feel so uncomfortable in skinny jeans. I agree, I think you need to have chicken legs to look good in skinny jeans. I have a pair of colored jeans that I've always wanted but they're just not flattering on me.

Yeah, most people do not look too good in "skinny" jeans, although I do like bootcut jeans, flared jeans, etc., I think they are more flattering to a girl's shape...

Nope. In true boot cut pants (whether styled for men or women), the extra material allowance is all in calf-to-hem area. You know...where boots go. A relaxed upper leg/loose around the hips isn't part of boot cut styling.

I guess I'm not the only one who hates boot cut jeans.
They make my hips look smaller, and make me look larger up top.
I say flaunt what you got.
I love jeggings.

Wow, old thread. I think body type has a lot to do with whether boot cut looks good or not. I prefer them, also in slacks, whether it's in style or not. I'm petite and they make me look taller. I do have some skinny jeans, but they really don't look as good on me IMO. Maybe if I were 2 or 3 inches taller...
