A little large for my taste. I'm not a fan of round diamonds, and the yellow is a tad much. Just my 2 cents!

Personally, if you're not sure you like the setting, then definitely change it. One thing is for sure, if you keep this setting, you will be constantly looking at it, while wearing it, and doubt your decision. I know I would. lol
Good luck with your decision. Oh, let us know.

And you say your turning your original engagement ring into a pendant?..Why? Do people still wear pendants anymore? Most people keep the original rings to give to their daughters. (Right from the start you should think of your engagement ring as an heirloom. Mothers and grandmothers dream of passing their engagement rings down to their daughters and granddaughters. From the time the ring is first placed on your finger, you should take precautions to insure that it can be used as an heirloom, no matter how many descendants may vie for its glitter in coming years.) I would NOT have it turned into a pendant unless you don't plan to have children at all. But again this is just my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

And heaven forbid I didn't ask anything about your financial status..that was just an expression didn't mean anything by it! sheesh.

And I agree with Sudcaro What matters most is that you like it...

Wolfeyes, your initial post was off topic and a tad snarky & judgemental. I don't know if that was your intention, but that's the way it reads to me.

Davachka, so you own the center stone and you're just looking for a setting for the cut & size or are you open to all options?

It's really hard to give ideas because jewelry is so personal, as we've seen in this thread. Some folks don't like yellow diamonds, some don't like them big or RBs, etc.. Personally, I haven't met a diamond I didn't like.

Do you definitely want a halo type setting?

And do you have a pic of the ring on your hand? I'm sure it looks a lot different on than in the photo posted. (I think it's a really pretty ring and I don't think those photos do it justice, as you pointed out.)

Yea it was a bit off topic and NOOOO it wasnt my intions to sound snarky or judging her whatever.
I guess its not OK to speak a little off topic on here, but anyways good luck Davachka with the choosing of your setting for the ring..and again it is very pretty!

I don't know a single person who passed down their engagement ring intact...
and I do not know a single person who wanted someone else's engagement ring.

It is very fancy and very pretty! I am not much of a jewelry wearer but I like it. I wouldn't wear it everyday but more because it is probably worth a fair bit of $$ and I would be afraid of losing it.

I have my grandmothers engagement ring and my mom has and wears my great grandmothers engagement ring..Most families I know passes down family heirlooms such as jewelry to the grandchildren... I guess not all families pass down things like that, instead they are buried with the jewelry. That's why I was wondering..It wasn't a big deal, I was only asking. Sorry I brought it up.

Kind of gaudy and tacky, but I can see someone like Liz Taylor wearing it. I'm sure it would look gorgeous on her.
