I found a piece of vintage Fiestaware at a consignment shop for $1.25 - it's listed in an antique book as being valued at $150.00.

I am a thrift store junkie so there have been a LOT... but right off the top of my head? A Chanel dress for $2.99. Lovely, perfect condition, and not at all dated.

Sold that baby on eBay for $300. Woo!

It's not all about profit though. I bought some pink suede Minnetonka boots last year that still had tags on them ($150) for $5, and they are adorable, and I kept them.

I use to shop at Syracus China in Syracuse Ny and it was a "fire sale" type store that specialized in discontinued China. I bought a designer outfit that retailed for $2,500 for $20.00 with tags on. I bought so many deals there and my dry cleaner would get excited when I would bring him something with the tags still on it slightly damaged and ask him there was anything he could do to save it. He once saved an absolutely gorgeous pair of double silk pants by dying the completely white instead of the pink with yellow on them that they were. That was the reason they were marked down from $1,500 to $9.99.

Loved that store - and the JoMar in Philly. I think they both closed.
