Are you all talking plus size or overweight? A 10 could definitely be overweight (depending on your height etc) but actual "plus sized"?? Seriously? I was always under the impression that Plus sized is the size 20+ that has it's own dept - and the sizes have a W.....?...A

IMO, plus-sizes don't kick in till size 18 or so.
Walk into most "plus-sized" clothing stores, and you'll see that the sizes start at 14.
How the hell can a size 10 be called plus size. a size 10 is slim
Ummm....no, that would depend on how tall you are. I'm 5'7, and I am a 6, sometimes an 8, and still really need to drop another 10 pounds. At a size 10, I am decidedly chunky.

Is that a regular size 14 though or a 14W (or are those the same? - I have no idea)? Either way the OP was asking about a size 10 - not even close to a 14 and several of the comments on here have been snarky comments about how she should lose weight. All she was doing was asking a sizing question.

I consume plenty of artificial sweeteners (in Diet Coke) and I am thin. I used to not be thin, but I got this way and stay this way by avoiding most packaged foods. I stick to the "outside" aisles in the supermarket. I do not even keep bread or breakfast cereal in my house. I am not afraid of carbs, but most bread and breakfast cereal is junk food anyway. I do have brown rice, whole wheat pasta and couscous though. And plenty of lean meats and veggies in the freezer.
Staying away from fast food and most sit-down restaurants is good advice though. Fast food for me is a very occasional indulgence and I can count on one hand the number of times I eat out in one month...and I still think I eat out too frequently!
artificial sweeteners can still make you gain weight, not to mention other health problems. especially aspartame. someone might lose weight by working at many things and happen to consume artificial sweeteners at the same time but the truth is they are doing no one any favors. for one, some studies have found they increase appetite.
p.s. i can count the number of times i eat fast food or chain restaurant food in a year on one hand

Yep, that's me. 119 is my happy number, but right now I'm floating around 128. 116 is good on the bod, bad on the face. Start getting that Diamanda thing going on.
Although I already have that weird, very lanky thing going on everywhere except the torso...where I have finally grown feminine curves. Short through the middle, making every pound show somewhere. At 10 (a real 10) it gets chunky.
14 is plus-size if you are 'average height', even though I think it's really questionable since it doesn't look the same on every person - it's just a size...but on a taller woman, I'd say it looks damn good - proportioned. Had a pal who was very generously graced with curves, wore L/XL (just shy of plus sizing) but looked slammin' in a swimsuit because at almost 6 feet, it fit her form well. She was not thin. She was not fat. She was Amazon Goddess. No yuck on her anywhere.
I'm 5'3'' and somewhat large framed for my height (esp in my lower region).
I absolutely SWIM in most sized XS shirts, which is bizarre to me, but for the longest time I hovered around a size 8/10 on the bottom. Honestly, I was chunky. Not fat--just a little "squishy" down there. Now I'm a 4/6 and feeling much better, and I also look much better proportioned to my smaller upper region.
My goal is to be a size 2, or a "standard" off the rack size 0 (which others have stated, in much larger than in the past). When I'm thinner, I feel better--simple as that. I'm about 10 lbs from that size, which would put me at around 125 lbs--NO MEANS anorexic or underweight.
Anyhow, IMHO, a size 10 isn't plus size--but I'll go ahead and say that most women who are a standard size 10 could afford to lose a few pounds.
No size 10 is not plus size far as clothing goes, you would still be wearing missy clothing. I used to work for an apparel company and often had to do competitor comparisons. The vast majority of plus size lines start at either a 14 or 16.
also some companies who have both missy and plus may carry missy sizes up to say size 20 which can be can different than their 20W.
