Sweat pants are great, if they are new and fit well. I used to work in a financial district and hated my business and business casual clothes. I would come home and put on sweat pants and feel so much better. Now that I am self employed I wear jeans and regular pants every day. Sometimes I need to go to the financial district area to take care of some business (not meet customers, just biz to biz stuff) and I enjoy going in my jeans because I feel like there are people who envy that I don't have to wear their business "uniform" anymore and be stuck to the cubical. When it gets warmer, I'm going to stroll around the financial district in shorts and flip flops. Hopefully one of my former coworkers will see me. I know most of them hate their jobs.

That's funny -- I thought anyone who wears sweatpants in public was exercising, on their way to or from exercising, or wanting to be comfortable and/or warm.

So ... You're supposed to spend 20+ minutes in the gym locker room showering and changing into "acceptable" clothing, all to stop at the convenience store for a Sunday paper? If only I'd known.

My husband is 34 and he wears them alot around the house. He has went to McDonald's to bring us home breakfast it them or ran to the gas station the get me a Sunday paper it them too. I don't think he would go any place else in them though.

But I am from the school of if it is clean and fits good who care what strangers think of my outfit.

I think you should wear what makes you feel comfortable at any age. Who cares what other people think or "what's in style"? Be yourself.

I think you're taking that a little to literal. My point is that if you've gone to the gym then decide to go do your grocery shopping or you're going to go shopping or decide to go to the cinema then no, I don't think it looks good. Like I've quoted Tim Gunn before, it's "the slobification of America". However, these are just my opinions on fashion and everyone is entitled to wear/do as they please. I just personally think it looks like people haven't tried.

However, if you have to get gas or a newspaper .... obviously you have to get out of your vehicle to get it.

too funny,

this really is a little retarded, peeps, it's sweat pants.......
if only we could wear them to the office where we are most of the day instead of sitting in a chair with an uncomfortbale suit and tie.
Oh the rules we have made up way back when. I'll tell ya, we really do not lik to make ourselves comfortable.
Whos dumb idea was it that you had to get all dressed up for work, to sit in an office.
If only we could go back in time and change the rules......

.and yes, I am sitting here with dress clothes on, shoot me now !!
