Britons are among the ugliest people in the world, according to a website that only allows 'beautiful' people to join.
Fewer than one in eight British men (12 per cent) and just three in 20 women (15 per cent) who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted as members.
That's a bit out of date .... Most people I know under the age of thirty have got nicely fluorescent teeth , all completely straight and everyone is supposed to look the same.
I suppose Europeans use to commit the terrible sin by Americna standards of thinking that the most important thing was having healthy and strong teeth rather than plastic looking , will glow in the dark gnashers.
Don't worry the shallowness has now seeped into our own cultural consciousness too and we too have joined the set of vapid blandness.

Cosmetic dentistry is still not nearly as popular in western Europe as it is in the US, though. I saw sets of teeth daily in the UK, France, Germany, etc. that would be looked on here as...well...disgusting.
Of course, not everyone's teeth were like that. Some people had naturally straight-ish teeth, and some people did use braces or Invisalign to straighten their teeth, but it is still pretty unusual there to see an adult bothering with that.
... so Elizabeth Hurley , Kate Beckinsale, and Elizabeth Taylor, among the three most beautiful women of all time, are ugly?
I agree that many of the most attractive women through the years in show business were from England. Perhaps none of them applied because they thought the whole 'beautiful people' thing was stupid.
