I'm on the hunt for a pair of brown Men's dress shoes...ones that could go w/ Khakis + nice jeans.

I live in the city and need to be able to walk ~1.5 miles/day in these shoes, so they need to be comfortable + durable.

Any recommendations?

Clarks are definitely comfortable and stylish. They are also good quality. They will be pricey, but good quality is worth every penny, in my book. (Just bought a pair of cheap sneakers and they are already falling apart v. my Clarks, which are holding strong 2 years later and still look new). Note: treat w/ water repellant b/c if you don't leather will shrink.

As a real estate agent who may show 10-25 homes a day on occasion I ran across Florsheim Shoes 6-8 years ago and thats all I purchase nowadays. They are comfortable and hold up well as I tramp through construction sites.

Florsheim Shoes - Florsheim.com - Mens Dress Shoes, Mens Business Casual Footwear, Designer Boot and Shoes.

I order them on line & they usually ship free. Sign up with their website and they will start sending you discount coupons.

A pair of brown & a pair of black fits my needs.

Thinking back, I don't believe I've ever heard a negative remark about Florsheim shoes. I especially like the tasseled loafers on men.

Depends on how dressy you want the shoes to be, but SAS makes comfortable shoes and Rockport used to, maybe still does. Be sure to try them on and walk around on a hard, non carpeted floor, for as long as you can.

Allen Edmonds Wilton

Allen Edmonds: Mens Casual Shoe Wilbert

Nordstrom had it on sale in late summer for approx. $160. I'd check Nordstrom's after x-mas sale.

I like Dressports and find them very comfortable.

On the other hand, many of the experts at Ask Andy About Clothes swear by Allen Edmonds. I think their casual shoes are generally pretty ugly, but their dress shoes, like the Park Avenue, are classics.

Thanks for the recommendations, all! Now I'm onto the next hurdle -- finding these suggested brands in a size 14!
