A house dress just wouldn't be warm enough for me. I love PJ bottoms and a long sleeved shirt, robe and fuzzy socks and slippers. Wow what a old lady!!

A house dress is like something you would wear around the house or pool, but not anywhere else in public. Something you can wear over a swimsuit. I use some of mine as house dresses (those swimsuit coverups, you know).
When I was little (I'm now in my 40's) my grandmother used to wear a "house dress" a lot. I grew up calling them "muu-muu's". I haven't seen anyone wearing them in years, maybe it's a regional thing? But to answer the question, during the summer I lounge around in shorts or capris and a cotton top, that's my typical wear since I don't work. In the winter I wear regular clothes each day like jeans and a sweater, but I do put my pajamas on by 6:00 p.m.
The top can vary - T-shirt, tank, cami, long sleeve cotton shirt... but the pants are usually jeans. Love wearing jeans!
