I hate those flip flops that have the big toe divider on them they are repulsive and disgusting on anyone. I don't mind sandals at all or flip flops as long as they don't have that toe thing on them.
You'd be surprised to find out how gross and sweaty rubber flip-flops can get. Coupled with undergrads that aren't the most reliable with personal hygiene.
Agreed, flip flops look strange with pants. Secondly, women everywhere enjoy wearing them too. Not being sexist here, but flip flops can appear to be on the effeminate side with men, especially white-colored ones.
I do think flip flops look a bit effeminate on men if worn with long pants. For some reason, not with shorts.
I do hate the noise they make when you walk in them. Plus, I just don't find them very comfortable and they offer no support. I wear them only to the beach, for the short distance between the parking lot and the sand. That's all they're good for, as far as I'm concerned. The thought of wearing them out anywhere, or walking anywhere in them, is something I wouldn't even consider.
I hate the noise they make too, and that thing in between your toe does not feel good.
I only wear them near the pool at friends house as the pavers get madd ass hot to walk on.
Flip flops on guy are o.k., but please don't wear them to church. It's quite distracting when you're walking up the aisle for communion. (Gals too, but guys, so much more so.)
My husband often wears flip flips with shorts at the weekend.
He dresses quite conservatively at work, but come the weekend he likes to dress down a bit. He pulls it off very well I think, probably because he's athletic and well groomed, so the overall image (to me at least) is of a rugged, fit, outdoorsey type. I think he looks hot in them! Of course I may be a bit biased. Lol.
I think as long as the guy looks fit and has well maintained feet then they are great with shorts. Not so much with long pants.
I'm from SoCal and have worn flip flops for years, and wear them here in Denver when it's warm enough. I get a new pair every year and wear them out. Apparently people back east are uptight about the casualness of the West.
People wear them all the time here too...Is not just the West thats laid back.
