Do wool coats go well with sweatpants while you're out in public?

Sweatpants should never be out in public.
The wool coat is fine.

If you are wearing sweatpants in public, there is no use worrying about fashion or what goes with what.

I'm another one who wouldn't wear sweatpants in public, unless I was jogging. But if you are going to wear them out anyway, it won't really matter what kind of coat you throw on over it. The damage is already done.

I have never worn sweatpants in public...unless you're wearing a sweatshirt...and not even then.

Yes, but only if you match the coat to the stains on the sweatpants. For beer stains, it's best stick to camel colors, while coffee stains require more chocolate tones. Spaghetti stains are tricky, but you can distract onlookers with a snazzy pair of red Crocs.
