I went to abercrombie and fitch, aeropostal, and hollister and I cannot find any shirts that fit. The sleeves are too small and the top is too small. If I find one the right length I can't even put it on. I need one that is the length of a medium that has the top the size of 2XL. I am quite skinny im 5-7 and 215. I tried to try on a large and I felt a sting on my shoulder and the shirt busted open. The only stuff that I can find that fits is 2XL southpole, ekco, roca, mecca, all the "ghetto stuff" and someone told me that people judge you based on what you wear. I have the same problem with shorts. Do they make anything preppy that will fit or will I just have to continue wearing ghetto stuff.

All the stores you mentioned carry very small sizes...even their "larger" sizes are small. They are meant to fit snugly. If you are looking for preppy with a more generous cut, try Ralph Lauren...no one is going to say you're "ghetto" when you're in RL! You might also want to look into Gap...

I'd suggest you look at Nordstrom, Macy's, even Penney's. Also try Lands End and LL Bean for classic styles. Cut is most important in clothing and you may need to get some things tailored for a perfect fit. Let us know how you do.

i just remembered reading an article in the business section of the LA times on short mens' clothiers and how they were dwindling because younger American males are getting taller & wider with each passing decade. They mentioned these stores: Jimmy Au's (Beverly Hills), Jockey Club (Santa Ana) and Napoleon's Tailor (Milwaukee). You might give check these their websites to see if they carry stocky sizes. Unfortunately, because you're much bigger than most slender 5'7 guys you might need to go the Big&Tall route and pay a tailor to alter it.

There's another dude here who's 5 8 and 200 and considers himself athletic and toned.

It's really true that many men are delusional about what they see in the mirror

Yeah...my hubby is 6'3 and 180 and he doesn't consider himself skinny. He wears size m/l shirts and has a 34" waist.
