Because not many folks really want to see the exact shape and imprint of another person's genitals. That and Speedos are seen as a gay man fashion anyway.
Yeah men have wee-wee's between their legs. Men know this and women know this too....
Is it so devestating to see maybe a hint of a wee-wee.....big deal, oh wait....America..........I keep forgetting.....
I own two pairs - I wear them for lap swimming - boardshorts are like swimming with your clothes on, and also as athletic underwear because they hold everything in place well and when needed, I put my cup in there so the speedo is basically functioning like a jock strap
my girlfriend is in the minority that actually likes them, she wears string bikinis but thinks its unfair we walk around in baggy shorts, and wants me to wear them to the beach, I think they look dorky outside of an athletic purpose, but I've been naked so many times in so many places that if offering a glimpse of the outline of my junk disturbs you than I'd say you're a little uptight
I live in Australia and when I was a doing lifesaving we wore them a lot. Nowdays boardshorts are more popular. If you are a triathelete or doing a lot of swimming they serve a purpose. I have a fit body and look good in them, but feel better in shorts as I think they are more fashionable.
I don't care for speedos myself, but I don't see anything wrong with other men wearing them if that's what they want to wear. We all know the male anatomy, so it's not as if the speedo is revealing something to us that we didn't know was there. Americans in general are more uptight than they ought to be about their bodies, IMO. I don't see what the big deal is.
