No, we don't have school age children. Our son just graduated from UofA and lives in Fayetteville.

Do you think it's a waste of time to apply for administrative jobs at Walmart/Sams. I've applied for 3 or 4 and nothing. I'm kinda thinking that those jobs go to internal people wanting a step up. I saw that Crystal Bridges has an opening BUT I just don't know if I would even have a shot. I would probably need to use the Bella Vista address on my resume'. Just don't think they would even consider me if I used my Texarkana address.

Many of the people Crystal Bridges has employed, possibly even most, are not from Northwest Arkansas. They seem to be looking for art-museum related experience, more than anything else.

I think there might be other people better to help you with the Wal Mart question. Our daughter is being interviewed or whatever you want to call it this Thursday, but it is for a pretty high up job and it more for them to get to know her. I know she did have some contacts/networking that helped. Her husband, on the other hand has done the same as you: applied on line and absolutely nothing even though the jobs seem to fit him to a tee.

How are fall colors there? Good or just fair? Do you get a lot of variety or is it mostly just yellows?

Fall colors are great. Lots of towns have lots of sugar maples....the most beautiful trees I've ever seen! And of course, the woods have lots of deciduous trees.

Well, I'll echo the OP and give a great big "WOW" to NW Arkansas. A few weeks ago I drove through the area and was stunned by how beautiful it is. I'd never imagined it was such a neat place, and it quickly became somewhere I wouldn't mind calling home someday if the opportunity presented itself. The only negative thing I encountered was a few crazy drivers coming through the tight curves and slopes of US 62 between Eureka Springs and Rogers. (BTW...Eureka Springs is a cool little town!) Literally had a semi-truck flying through there....I'm amazed he was able to get through those hairpin turns.

Great area. Would love to get back there someday.

People run the roads between ES and Fay like they're going out of style. Not so bad in off-season, but when it's tourist season, or the busy weekends during school, BB&BBQ, or fall colors (or spring), lookout.

I love Fayetteville and NWA. I had to leave for work, but I do someday want to come back. I spent nearly 20 years there and it's just going to always feel like home, no matter where I am.
