Excited to be camping on your beautiful Buffalo River next week....except that on Tuesday at 3 pm we need to be near a TV for a couple hours! Any suggestions for a sports bar or restaurant that might be broadcasting the USA match? Highway 14 area near Yellville, thanks for any suggestions.

Sorry, I've never been that far east on the Buffalo. I might head out there this weekend again. We are considering doing a section near Pruitt that we haven't ever done. I know Gilbert has some small town amenities within a few blocks of the river. Its a national park so there's not a lot of civilization right off the river most of the way.

Yellville has a pretty good little downtown....I would bet there would be a bar of some kind there with a TV.

I see there is a restaurant at Buffalo Point. Maybe they have a TV...call and ask.

Another possibility....is it going to be on a major network? (I have no idea, as I have no interest in professional sports.) If so, just take you a portable TV with a digital antenna. There is still television floating around in the air for people who refuse to pay ridiculous cable bills!

Or....maybe it will be broadcast on the internet somehow? If so, take a laptop and go find some wifi somewhere. I didn't see any mention of wifi on the Buffalo Point website, but maybe they do provide it at the restaurant or ranger station or something.

I would just call the campground and ask what they would suggest you do.

Gilbert is a teeny tiny town with just a general store and (used to be) a restaurant. Besides that, Gilbert is a long way from Buffalo Point. Not as the crow flies, but on the roads.

The general store is in a very cool old building. So is the restaurant, if it's still open....I haven't been there in years.

And this thread really needs to be in the general Arkansas forum....you'd get more answers, probably. Buffalo Point is a long way from Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers.
