Well, Nita, you may enjoy the Armadillos, but you don't live in farm country. They damage tractors, wipe out gardens overnight, and a couple of years ago my lab stepped in an armadillo hole which ended up costing me $500. Not to mention that a percentage of them carry leprosy.

Here, we find a fifty cent bullet a good response to an armadillo.

How about rattle snakes? We've been getting a lot of those here in the desert and scorpions! I really hated the scorpions, but worse I saw in the paper yesterday that they've seen a lot of Mojave greens, I think they are called, this summer.

Actually I really don't particular like them: they do dig up our yard, looking for grubs, but then, I didn't want to leave them out and hurt their feelings. Normally we only see them sleeping by the side of the road with their legs straight up. I have seen one or two in the back part of our property, digging and a couple other places.

We do get poisonous snakes, rattle snakes, cotton mouth and copper heads, but I don't think as many as you get in the desert area. As for scorpions I haven't seen one here. We did see a few in TX, but in CA we had quite a few. Luckily I have only seen a couple. My cousin was stung by one many yeas ago.

Nita, I hadn't seen a scorpion here in more than 20 years until a couple of weeks ago I received a sample box of Colostomy supplies that was shipped from Atlanta and there was a scorpion in the box. It was a fiesty devil for a few seconds.LOL

wow, I could make a statement out of that, but we will just leave it at; for heavens sake, a scorpion.

I never saw any scorpions in CA. First time I saw them was here, and many of them! I guess every place has some bad creatures!!

When cousin got stung it was many years ago, way before So. Ca. was one big freeway and either a sub division or shopping center covering every inch of the region. It was when we actually still had orange orchards and the east part of Los Angeles county was almost desert. All of the Inland Empire was open fields.

That was a long time ago. The good ole days in CA as I call them! We lived in Redlands with all the orange groves. Was so beautiful.
