I apologize for the Austin news link, but I couldn't find a local one yet. If you scroll down you'll see a map where you can click on the different metros to see their growth over the past year and their total figures.

Austin Metro, Hays County among fastest-growing in U.S. | KXAN.com

Northwest Arkansas was at 501,653 on July 1st, 2014.

I'm glad someone is on board! Its over 55,000 I think, but statistics say that Springdale alone had grown 49% between 2010 and 2014. The houses in my area are selling fast. Last month, I looked at my 'hood and three or four houses were for sale, which are not on the market right now. I'm taking it they have sold.

Now, Springdale just needs to catch-up on the streets. It makes me mad because this place has been growing for awhile and we have paid for roads through taxes for years and have even increased the state sales tax and they him-ha around.

I am under the impression that Springdale doesn't take the growth serious. Ah well, when they lose business because everything is hard to get to ( with inky-dinky two lane streets) someone will eventually get it.

Hwy 265 is widening, so that is a bonus. 265 was originally one lane going going both ways. A total pain. Don Tyson needs to be widened as well. Tyson is 2 lanes going one way but then it turns to 1 lane going one way, and then back to two lanes going one way ( heading towards 71, off the exit) PITA!!!!!

in my new development, they are building atleast 5 houses at once in different stages of completion. They usually sell before completion. Since I moved in (just about 1.5 years), my street went from 50% built to over 80% built.

Prices have gone up from 108/sq ft when I purchased to over 117/sq ft today.

Wow. And I remember when Fayetteville stopped at K-Mart and there were woods until you got to Springdale.

yes, read this in the paper yesterday. The 500,000 mark is the mark many companies look at when deciding to start up devisions. This is one the reasons so many retailers and chains are moving into our area. Now, if only, no I won't say it, you all what what I am going to say, so I will button up my mouth.
