Bill Clinton is a fascinating figure to me, mainly because he came from very humble beginnings to become the leader of the free world.

He was the son of an alcoholic single mother. Anyone who overcomes that to become successful has some work ethic and intelligence. A person who overcomes that to become the President of the United States is an exceptionally gifted person. There is no doubting the Clintons are very intelligent people, regardless of your views on their ethics or politics.

Politically I still strongly dislike him, but Obama makes me think "He's not such a bad guy..." and you have to admit, setting aside any political opinions...he's a hard guy to not like during interviews, etc.
Policially I agree with you on all parts of your comment, but I still think his being from AR and then Hillary doing what she has done (bad or good) has made people take notice of the state. I too might enjloy having a beer with him, and yet, I still think he is a jerk. If for no other reasont than the way he treated women in the past and possibly still does.

Rockclimber: what you say about his background is partially true, actually his mom did re-marry and he spent a good part of his childhood with his grandmother as well. The part about single mom that can be said about a lot of Pres, how about Reagan and his mom being the one that raised him. No, she wasn't single, but his dad was rarely around and was an alcoholic and look at Obama. I don't know if his mom had a drinking problem but she certainly had problems. That being said, I think we are getting pretty much off topic right now.

When my daughter (in a corporate position) told someone at work that her mom was thinking of moving to Arkansas, the reaction was immediate. WHY? THE WHOLE STATE IS DRY. meaning there is no liquor. That's the perception some people still hold.
