I am moving to NWA from the Northeast in 2 weeks and we have thought about giving my sister our current living room furniture and buying new when we get there. Could you guys give me a few places that I should take a look before making a purchase.

I am not interested in Ashley furniture. That's the only place that I would like to rule out.

Maybe Hanks fine furniture? I like Pottery Barn as well -- they will send someone to your house to take measurements and offer decorating/design advice (the fee for this service gets deducted from any furniture purchase). I have also found some great buys at the Marshalls Home Goods store in Rogers -- it's hit or miss, but worth a look.

there are so and each has good and bad points. 2 years ago we renovated our house including getting new floors in the living and dining rooms. We also had our screened in porch enclosed. We replaced almost all of furniture, and went higher end in some cases, dirt down in other including consignment shops. If you are looking for good quality at decent prices give some of the consignment shops a try. We did get some of our furniture at Hanks as well. We were very happy with the service and the quality, for the price, but I will add, it isn't top of the line by any means.

You are very wise to stay away from Ashley.

No shortage of furniture stores in NWA. We shopped in Springdale, Rogers and Fayetteville when we lived there and you will find all price ranges. Good luck with the move

It depends on your budget and what kind of furniture you want..

I have many Asian friends who just want to stay here for one or two years snap great deals in Sears/Kmart for their clearance...A brand new nice computer desk with a chair for just $19 on their clearance....I help them buy new mattress/other stuff for just a few hundred dollars..

The Amish Furniture store in Eureka is going out of business and everything is 50% off, based on a quick Google. I'm pretty butthurt that I'm not ready to furnish my house yet. I'm going to miss that.
