Thank God I haven't gotten one for about 10 years, but I am like you: I do the driver course. I will say, at my age I probably will not get anymore, but could be wrong. I rarely drive under the speed limit but I try not to drive too fast over. At almost 80 I would feel pretty stupid taking the class unless it was a designed class to save on insurance.

Most of the time you only take the class if you've really messed up. I only took it once in my life. Otherwise, you pay your money, and the offense is wiped. Always go to court. ALWAYS. You've paid for it. So go.

I think the parts of my life spent in aggressive driving environments of DFW and Austin have forever made me appreciate the "slow lane". I drive like grandpa.

It was great when I first moved there a little less than 3 years ago. I moved away mid last year though, but dang, renting prices sure have gone up quite a bit since I first moved there. It was nice being able to afford to live in a nice city where crime is VERY rare. Now that it's getting noticed that it's a great city/metro with low crime, people will be flocking to move there which means that renting prices are going to go up even more. It'll be interesting to see how much an average one and two bedroom apartment costs 5 years from now. I actually considered moving back here recently, but after checking out currently apartment prices, I don't believe that'll happen, and I think it'll get even worse.
