Can you share with me what exact area you live in? We are considering a move there from Colorado and trying to figure out where to plant roots. Its a big area so knowing a more specific area would be helpful. Thanks!!

People go out of their way to help ohters The economy is very good in NWA. And our weather, for the most part is nice: warm, sometimes humid summers, but they are shorter than other places we have visited or lived. Our winters brigng some snow, but not much. Spring and fall are to die for. We have both rural and metro areas within a few minutes of one another. No, it isn't Paradise, we have problems just like anywhere, but it is a good life.

We happen to live in Bella Vista, which is just south of the MO. border. Though we love it here and wouldn't consider another town I don't think, there are lots of places just as nice. The part we love is the combination of rural and urban. An example we just got back from spending a couple hours with kids from a little town called Gravette. We volunteer once a week to be buddies to 3 little ones. The community is about 15 mintes from us and pretty much lower middle class with several farms. Tomorrow we are going to Bentonville to have lunch with friends; it is a middle to upper middle class city with all the amenities anyone could want. How far is it from us: about 25 minutes.
One thing we love about our area is the wild life and the homes are not like typical sub divisions. Most areas there are vacant lots on either side of a home or, if you prefer there are large subdivisions. I guess I could go on and on, but I do that often enough. Let me add, just one more thing: no place is perfect and I don't want to have you think, our area is either.

PS: grandson in law is from Colo: he and our grandaughter met at CSU. They now live here with their 3 girls; granddaughter is a nurse practitioner and hubby works for WalMart. I went to U of C. probably before you were even born or maybe before you parents were . My dad graduated from boulder.

Summers can be hot and humid, but unlike areas of the true "deep south" or Texas, it tends to cool off in the evenings quite a bit. We have a little bit of elevation here, with Fayetteville sitting at about 1500 ft, with points in the city over 1800 ft. That helps.

Not nearly as hot as Austin or Dallas in my experience.
