My husband and I are moving to the Fayetteville area. We are coming from St. Petersburg Florida.
My husband is from Arkansas North East area has not lived in Arkansas since he was 17. Just wondering how it is for a Military retiree? Also just wondering do very many tornadoes touch down there? My in-laws will be taking me to see the Fayetteville area on March 19th I'm so excited to get to see it in person you can only Google Earth so much to try and get a feel of a place. Thank you so much for any information you can give me

I moved from Fayetteville to Colorado and regret it. You'll love it there. Don't worry about tornadoes, sometimes there are pretty good straight line winds and hail in spring, some snow in winter. Lots to do, beautiful area. Best of luck to you.

Military: lots and lots of retired military in NWA so he will fit right in: Tornadoes: once in awhile one may touch down but the ones that do are usually minor and cause almost no damage. BTW, you might want to check some of the other towns near Fayetteville, unless there is a reason you have to live right in Fayetteville: Both Rodgers and Bentonville have a lot to offer as well as some of the smaller cities. Like florida, many of the cities just run together.

Enjoy your trip and don't hesitate to ask questions. Most of us love to give answers. Of course remember most of us are just giving personal opinions.

I really think that you will like what you see. My Wife and I just closed on our new home in December and we love it more and more all the time.

Are you looking to live in town or the outskirts? What about some of the surrounding areas?

What made you and your husband choose Fayetteville AR?
