I am heading up to the area next week and would love to hear recommendations on what I should check out in the region. There may be a possibility of moving to Fayetteville if it is impressive.

Thanks in advance for your help.

For your urban entertainment you have to hit Dickson Street. Go to Nightflying: The Entertainment Guide and check out what live music will be playing while you're there. The Gypsy is a great venue that features a wide mix of bands.

If you have a hankering for some BBQ you have Penguin Ed's for a quick fix or the infamous Herman's for a traditional treat. If you do go to Herman's don't be scared off by the exterior, it's part of the experience. Or how about a fantastic burrito from The Flying Burrito, the local answer to Chipotle? Need a caffeine fix? Forgo the Star*******s and hit up Arsaga's or maybe The Iron Horse in downtown Rogers (take some cash, Iron Horse only accepts CC if your order is over $20!!).

Go to Gulley Park or Lake Fayetteville for some disc golf. Swing by Wilson Park and visit the castle, it's quite unique....

Hike Devil's Den State Park (take a flashlight). Visit Prairie Grove and Pea Ridge Battlefields.

Go up on Mt. Sequoyah at sunset.

Go ice skating at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale..for free!

Eureka Springs!

Take a walk around the UofA campus and see all the names of the graduates. Maybe the guy who occasionally plays bagpipes in front of Old Main will still be there or maybe some students will be playing ultimate.

The Dickson Street Bookstore!

I'd say Mt. Sequoyah and the Washington-Willow historic district. The Fayetteville square and library and the U of A campus, then head over to Prairie Grove Battlefield

Some great suggestions. Thanks. Looking at Google Earth, Eureka Springs appear to be a good bit away from Fayetteville though. Mt. Sequoyah at sunset is a must see based on this and other threads.

Eureka Springs is a bit over an hour. If you have a free day, it's well worth the drive.

Squeeze Sequoyah and ES both in if you possibly can. The views are spectacular both places - one you're looking at terrain, the other you're looking at people and homes and quaint little shops. And don't miss Dickson St. on Sat. night if you can avoid it - so much fun!

The Jones Center for Families (Springdale, but not far from Fayetteville) is great....besides the ice skating there's basketball courts, swimming pools (one for laps and one for kids with slide), a computer center, workout room with lots of equipment, teen room, and if you're into flower gardening, some awesome plantings out front to wander through! That's what I do while the kids do their thing. It's all free, but be aware that there are specified swimming and skating times and you need "reservations", so call ahead. If you just show up at the scheduled times and there are extra "tickets", you can still get in (there usually are extras). They have a web site, Home - The Jones Center for families You can find out about the swimming and skating schedules there and know ahead of time if you'll be there at the right time. It's a great place to spend a hot summer day.

Our Library. It is my absolute favorite thing about my town. It recieved the library of the year once.

I have seen some massive libraries is NYC, Chicago, places like that but our is structurally beautiful and truly the nicest one I've seen.

Oh yeah, and while your there visit the library's cafe and have an Arsagachino- so tasty!

The only reason to not go to the Jones Center would be if you're frightened of the Spanish language.
