Default Unusual Summmer in BV

Very little humidity (compared to what was expected) and very few bugs. No more than here in LV. The locusts are much louder, however.

It is so much like the central and northern coasts of California. Even around inland Santa Barbara looks like NWA and SWM. We stayed at Big Cedar Logde in Rigedale. What a spectacular place! Driving in from NWA airport we were just awed by the scenery. The humidity was about the same as a hot day at the beach in CA.
This summer in BV was not the norm. It was much wetter and cooler than normal. If you were here in August you witnessed a weather anomoly.

This may be true, but she lives in Vegas now: Even dry heat is awful when the temps are around 110 degrees most of the summer. As someone said, an oven is dry heat as well.

I personally don't like it. I'm a big fan of the concept of New Urbanism.....but to each they're own, it does have lots of trees for the fall etc.
Wooded? Leafy? Spread-out? Lots of trees for fall color? Lakes? Creeks? Pretty, green, manicured golf courses? Swimming pools and health clubs? Older, nicer, quieter, more polite people?

Sounds nice to me.

we can add to this, yes, I just saw 2 signs yesterday for homes on 5 acres, plus I don't think the majority of the country really is looking for homes on several acres..Lets face it, getmeoutofAR really does't like BV and doesn't try to hide it. I am glad my realtor didn't feel that way...

We think so as well. We have lived in 5 states as adults, ( lived in a couple others as a child) all over the country, from So Calif to the Mid Atlantic region and no place is perfect, but BV cames pretty close. Sure, living in the highlands, sometimes the drive just to get to 71 seems like eternaty and yes, we don't have everything at our fingertips, but what we dont have is offset by what we do have. Blue skys, friendly people, quality of life, greenery, creatures in our back yard and across the street, peace and still everything we need is within 30 to 45 minutes.
