Just reading another fun book on famous art forgery:
I Was Vermeer: The Legend of the Forger Who Swindled the Nazis, by Frank Wynne. The Nazi part is really incidental, but, still, such a nervy scam.
I Was Vermeer | Bloomsbury USA
Review: I Was Vermeer by Frank Wynne | Books | The Guardian
But I find that the more exciting one is the contemporary one I read first:
Provenance: How a Con Man and a Forger Rewrote the History of Modern Art, by Laney Salisbury and Aly Sujo.
