Default Enamored by this art.. Serov

OKay, now laugh.. its fine, bbbbut the Serov paintings of children choked me up.
The capture of pureness is evident upon first sight. Deeply touching.
Thank you again for sharing something that is unfamiliar and unpopular..
It is exciting to discover these secrets.

The Arnolfini Marriage by Jan Van Eyck

I remember the first time I saw this my heart nearly skipped a beat. There is so much to look at and absorb and interpret. Just adore it

Countryswan - again - you are welcome, but..."unfamiliar?" yes, that might be so, but I am not so sure about the "unpopular" part.
You might not know too many people who are familiar with Serov or Vereshagin ( or many other names I've mentioned here.) However ( for example) this particular Verashagin's painting "The Taj Mahal, Evening" has recently set the record at Sotheby's auction; it has been sold for 3.7 million dollars. So as you can see "unknown" and "unpopular" are not quite the same thing.
