National Gallery confirms one of its Vermeers is actually not a Vermeer
Experts had long wondered whether ‘Girl With a Flute’ was really one of the world’s few paintings by the Dutch master. The pandemic gave the museum a chance to investigate. https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-...ry-girl-flute/
^^^ Does Girl with a Flute date to the same period in which Vermeer himself painted? (I only looked at the first link you posted, and it does not give a date.). I have always loved Vermeer's paintings, and whilst this one does seem to echo "Vermeer," there is also something about the face, the eyes in particular, that seem a little off to me.
