My home bred female Dwarf Gourami would shoot water out of her mouth at me whenever I open the top panel of the tank. She expects food every time I do that. If I don't feed her soon, she'll move away.

How she was born. Her parents spawned under a bubble nest. Her mother would "kiss" the father on the side near the rear fin, then he would wrap around her to squeeze out the eggs. Then the daddy would pick up all the eggs and place them into the bubbles in the nest, then add another layer of the bubbles to make sure they stay in place.

Here is the video of her father trying to build a bubble nest with plants and his own bubbles.

Here is the video of her and her brother @ 8 weeks old. Her brother started to show adult color. But they obviously do not like each other.

My two German Blue Ram cichlids. Both are female. They always stay together 100% the time ... when they are not fighting lol.
Caught them fighting on video

Video of my two German Blue Ram defending their own little nest from the "brother" dwarf gourami, and a Platy.

My cardinal tetra spawned in my community planted tank. All the eggs became instant fish food.

How cute! It looks like you had a molly or platy looking hopeful there, too. I only had time to watch the first video so far, I will enjoy seeing the rest later. Your gouramis are obviously very happy if they are breeding for you.

Cool to see the Gourami shooting water. I used to keep a couple of archerfish, we'd catch flies and watch them shoot 'em down and eat them.

I think it is illegal to show or make video of underage gouramis breeding. I hope you do not get in trouble. You can never be a judge or a senator now.

Beautiful aquarium.

After about 10 years without an aquarium, I'm 3 weeks into cycling a new marine tank. I've always had marine, but envy the lovely plants fresh can have.

What do you mean yours isn't working? Can't set up an aquarium successfully?
Some beginner fish keeping guides might help.
Make sure you read aquarium nitrogen cycle and fishless cycling. It is the most important knowledge required to successfully keep aquarium at home.

I have never had a saltwater fish tank yet, but eventually I will try it someday. :P Freshwater aquariums are my priorities because I love plants in there.

LOL! At least I separated the siblings into different tanks. There won't be incest for sure!
