It's hard to get them to stay still!

Some koi,goldfish, and three different African Cichlids in the picture.

In ground ponds ~1000 gal total, temps swing as much as 8 - 10 F degrees per day, and probably 25 F total during the cichlid's three month residency. No filtration, just a homemade screen on the 1800 GPH pump. A waterfall and short stream for aeration.

Limestone rocks and 3" PVC pipe sections for fish cover as well as two screens to solve the Great Blue Heron problem.

Water lillies and water hyacinth are the plants.

Goldfish, sometimes Koi, and summer cichlids in the ponds have been working for about 25 years now.
