So it seems I have lost a fish.
A zebra danio.
It didn't jump out.
I don't see a dead body.
I tried gravel vacuuming to find carcass...nothing.

Where the heck did the fish go?

Yes, there are other fish.
No, there's no way a fish could get into the filter (covered/screened).
I feed them every morning and inspect them - I have a hard time believing they disappear that fast in the water, so they others must have chomped on him.

Poor fishie.

Once they die they decay very quickly, turning into soft cottony yuck that is easily sucked into a filter. It only takes a day or two for that to happen. What other fish do you have? Unless they are really aggressive it's unlikely that they could not only kill a danio, but eat him entirely within a day. I think you would have noticed any aggressive behavior by now, too.

The other fish are danios, cories, and neons.
No one seems particularly aggressive.
It is a very peaceful (yet active) tank.

So should I change out all the water or something?
I don't want the chemistries to go wicky wacky on me.

I really do look inside the tank every day...never saw dead fishie.

The cories would work a carcass over.
