Thanks, I determined he's a male than! I think I will be getting some fancy Guppy Males then! I think going the "cheap" route could be better, since I am so new at this hobby. Do you think 5 fancy male guppies (including the 1 I have already) and 3 Cory Cats (maybe 4 if I can find the smaller ones) is okay for the ten gallon? I am sorry for so many questions!

id go with 4 male guppies and 3-5 (3 if larger species, 5 if smaller)
theres something i prefer about odd numbers, dunno why LOL!
but yeah id say that sounds great, male only guppies will give you lots of color and activity "upstairs" and the corry will have a blast as a group in the lower levels

I have the following fish in a one gallon, filterless bowl:

Neon Tetra
white cloud mountain minnow
golden zebra danio

They a active and healthy. These are small fish and if they are healthy and active in a one gallon tank/bowl, they will do just fine in a 10 gallon.

Well, I wound up with a Gold/Black male VT Betta! I've been Bettaless for too long apparently. I will be getting the cories later on at the local fish store. This guy is from Petco, he's wasn't as sad as some, persay but he's a lot perkier now in the ten gallon! The feeder guppy is leaving him alone after getting charged. The betta doesn't seem to mind him if he stays away from his tail though. I named him Buzz, because he is "bee" colors. He's a silly fish, I really just love their personalities.

The first one is just a cute picture. He loves that skull I bought him for sure!

Why are you acting offended? It is my fish tank after all. I was looking for fish compatible with one ornamental fish, and neons and danios are still an option, but for now it's just going to be my Betta. I took every post into consideration but I happened to find a Betta I really liked, and he seemed like a calm one, so I gave him a try and he works with my tank and my other Guppy. There's no need for you to get offended because I didn't wind up with a fish you suggested. I wish I could afford a bigger tank and get all these types of fish but that isn't possible right now. I looked at all the fish suggest and almost got two guppies but then I just had to have my Betta boy.

Why are you so defensive and argumentative. I was just merely asking you a question.

Because you asked me why I didn't use the fish you suggested with rolly eyes? Isn't that a little bit rude? You acted offended, so I asked why you would be offended. That isn't being argumentative or defensive?

I'm not being defensive in the least, merely stating why I wound up with a Betta. I still have plenty of options, depending on the type of Cory's my LFS has.
