enjoy your betta there such great fish and all too often NOT given the opportunity to flourish in a truly appropriate tank!
I just lost my betta who I had for about 6 years, he moved from CT to TN with me, lived in a 7 gal tank with a couple little ottos.

I am wondering what else to add to my tank. I am set on Cory Cats, I had them a few years back and I really liked them. So I will definitely want maybe four or more of the pygmy cories. I am just having trouble deciding on what to get along with them. I am fearful of putting a male betta despite what I am reading that they are good tank-mates. Is it weird to just want a "catfish" tank? I love Corys and Otos but I just am not sure if even tetras would bother them. I had a Diamond Tetra for 8 years that harassed every fish I put in with her, even her own kind! I had a few neons, but I never noticed any fin nipping, would they be a good choice with the Cories? My feeder guppy is an issue because I can't tell if it's a male/female and I don't want them breeding lol..

Any suggestions on fish with Corys? Or maybe shrimp with the Cories and the feeder guppy?
I had some Panda Corys. I started off with four, and then got two more. (I have a 40 gallon tank.)

Here is my advice: If you get Corys, then you may as well get another tank, a breeder net, and some live plants. I no longer have Corys. The reason? They bred like rabbits. Oh, the little ones were so cute, with their little tiny eyeballs, but they were having fry all the time because apparently my tank was very healthy. They started to take over the tank. I had to sell them to the mom and pop fish store because I could not handle that many new Corys.

LOL, actually now that you say that he has officially taken over the SKULL I brought for the Cories. Looks like it's his, right?

@Threewolvesinthesnow, really? I had 3 albino Corys and I never had that issue. Is there any way to sex them in the store? I don't mind a few babies, but I don't really have a separate tank. I guess, if it happens, I can just sell them to the Pet Stores.

I agree! They are very cute!

I wish I had a big enough tank for Corys a Betta and some neons, I think 10 gallons is kind of small for all that.

Nice betta!

Yeah, some posters here just like to try and stir the pot, or should I say bowl.

Buzz is doing very well, I will soon be reducing his mansion to a little penthouse though, because I got a second betta. I am just going to divide the tank! New Betta boy is a Double Tail male...he was gorgeous couldn't pass him up. He's in 2.5 gallon for now. He eats like a champ...Buzz on the other hand hasn't really eaten a ton yet. I've had him for a week today, so I am hoping he starts showing interest in food. The darn guppy also tries to eat his food, so I usually take it out at feeding time. I still want some Cory Cats...but I don't think I can anymore in a divided tank, so I think I'll stick with my two boys for now.

This is the new betta, Chippewa:

hes stunning!
id leave the cory for now, but you might do well with some little cherry shrimp if you fanangle the divider so its about 1/2 an inch form the bottom of the tank/substrate the shrimp would be able to tend to the entire tank floor as a little cleanup crew. Your bettas will probably snack on the occasional youngsters, so provide some extra "groundcover (tunnels, caves ect)

I can look into that for sure! Thanks!! They seem like really interesting little guys. I have one in an Ecosphere, but you can't get it out, he's been alive for over five years. Do the shrimp need algea, what exactly do they eat?
