I used to really like those small crumble pieces (other form of pellets were also available) goldfish pellets that sink. What happened to them? They are now being replaced by these floating or slow sinking pellets.

Specially fancy Goldfish needs sinking pellets as they sink, the air inside is removed. While putting the floating pellet inside water the the air trapped in the pellet can give swim bladder disease by air in the pellet can get stuck in an organ which is called Swim bladder. The sinking pellet is the best option for food for goldfish as air is not sucked by the fish.

Forget your local pet store.

Try online store like these. I've been a customer of his for years.
